Evan's Surgery

Evan has always been a mouth breather. He snored as a baby and I never thought anything of it. Last year I had to take him to the Dr. and he was diagnosed with Bronchial Spams. He was given an inhaler. In the spring he went back to the Dr. and was referred to a different Dr. We were then told that he would need his adenoids removed. I was relieved. Yes the thought of your child having surgery is not pleasant but having your kid able to breath through his nose is so much better. And we won't even talk about his trouble eating with his mouth closed.
Here he is ready to go. He was a champ, didn't seem scared at all!

Here he is all dressed up.
He got to take his monkey with him AND play video games while he waited.

My two favorite guys. Doing what they do best, playing video games. Bryan did tell me he was nervous for the surgery. Me too!
Right before they wheeled him back, we got to pray with and over him before.

The surgery went great, it didn't take long at all. The Dr. did say that his adenoids where blocking almost all of his passage way in his nose, so thank God we got it taken care of.

First Day of Second Grade

Monday was a great day! Evan started the second grade and Mia started Kindergarten. If you don't know Mia is my niece! I was very happy she got to go to FCS and has Evan's kindergarten teacher as her teacher. Evan gets to see her on the play ground and they get to carpool after school.

Back to School

Hi all. Sorry I know it has been a while. I never knew how hard this would be. Many funny things happen but I simply don't have the memory to store it for later. (I'm working on it.)

So summer is officially over as we start the second grade tomorrow. I was blessed enough to  get Evan dinner, a bath and in bed by 7pm. Early I know but my kid needs his beauty sleep. His alarm is set for 7am. We'll see what time he actually wakes up.

I was in my room finally tackling the boxes that have been piled up since we moved in 4 months ago. Evan walked in gave me a hug.
"You should be asleep!" I said.
"I'm so tired." He replied.
"You know it's not morning yet," as we walked down the hall to his bedroom. As he reached the door he said, "yes it is, help me."
"No Evan, go to sleep," as I tucked him in.
As I gave him one last look from the doorway, nice and comfy in his bed he said, "I like to swim!"
"Yes it's fun!" I said as I closed the door and laughed out loud realizing he was asleep the entire time.

To my friends who have children with night terrors, I'm praying for you tonight. I am thankful that Evan no longer has to deal with that. As for those of you that have kids going to school tomorrow...woooohoooo. I can finally get some peace and quite on my day off and get back to work at a regular time.  ;)

Socks??

I was blessed by a wonderful family to receive a pair of TOMS for Christmas. This is my first pair and I love them. They are classic gray. I wore them today. The first day out of my house. I got them yesterday! :) As Evan and I were getting into the car he stops, looked down and asked: "Mom, why are you just wearing your socks?" I had to LOL. "Evan, these are shoes, my TOMS." "Ohhh!"
Maybe I need to get him a pair so he can appreciate them!
Thank you friend for my shoes!!

Advent Calendar

Evan loves to do the Advent Calendar at Christmas. This year we got him the Lego City Advent Calendar. This very special calendar comes with 24 little Legos to assemble. The box itself has a backdrop of the inside of a house. Genius! Day 1, Dec 1, 2010. Evan it's time to get up. (I usually go through a 5-10 minute waking up period. Nope not day 1! He was up and out of the bed ready to see what Lego goodness awaited his assembly. Snowman! (Which I didn't put in the picture because our cat stole his head and I just found it today.)

As the days progressed a family started to come together. First we got the boy, then the little girl with a white cat. Soon the dad appeared. After awhile Evan thought it was kinda dull. That is until I told him he will soon get a mom. When we finally got the mom he was thrilled! Look mom it's you, dad, me and Mia. So cute.
